COMANOID

Logo COMANOID

COMANOID researches the use of humanoid robots in the assembly of Airbus commercial airliners.

Duration: 2015-01-01 until 2018-12-31
Project partners: • Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
• Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt
• Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique
• Università di Roma “La Sapienza”
• Airbus Group Innovations
Website: comanoid.eu
Applications: • Humanoid Robots
• Industrial production
Funding: Horizon 2020, Funding No 645097

Project details:

COMANOID investigates the use of humanoid robots in Airbus commercial airliner assembly focusing on operations that are laborious and protracted for human workers and inaccessible for wheeled or rail-based robots. A key challenge will be to integrate current scientific and technological advances, including multi-contact planning and control, perception and localization, aspects of robot safety and the operational processes of “cobotic” solutions for aircraft assembly tasks, into an effective overall system.
