CAPRICE was a Technology Transfer Node (TTN) established in the frame of the High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) Programme of the European Commission. The aim was to transfer HPCN technologies from technology providers, such as research institutions and universities to small and medium sized enterprises (SME). The main objective was to provide customized and affordable solutions.
DLR Simulation and Software Technology was managing the TTN CAPRICE in cooperation with the Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks (IBR) of the Technical University of Braunschweig.
CAPRICE managed seven projects focussing on parallelisation, simulation and cooperative engineering, performed consulting and disseminated the results of its own projects and the other projects of the HPCN initiative.
CAPRICE had also a leading role in two sector groups, Aerospace and Logistics, to take care of the special needs of SME working in these industrial branches.
The TTN CAPRICE was active from April 1997 to April 2000.
