Instructions on signing up

For the DLR_School_Lab, you can register your classes or advanced courses from year 5 onwards. The lesson program is prepared for each school visit after consultation with the teachers of the registering schools. We generally start with a plenary introduction around 9:00 am and end the experiments with a final round at 2:00 pm. However, we are flexible in terms of time and will take your arrival and departure times into account.

DLR_School_Lab TU Darmstadt currently offers seven experiments under the motto ‘A trip into the future’:

Each experiment run requires approx. 45 minutes including introduction and evaluation. The students work in small groups with a maximum of 6 participants, so that they can carry out the experiments independently. Depending on class size, up to 4 groups can work in parallel. After a break, the groups can then switch to another experiment. On a visiting day, up to four different experiments per group of students can be worked on.

Trained student tutors are available for each experiment station, instructing the students in the experiments and interactively conveying the contents in the sense of discovery-based learning. Work materials are available for the stations, which you will also find on the homepage of the DLR_School_Lab TU Darmstadt for downloading.

Meals

Your students should bring their own lunch and drinks. We plan a lunch break in the recreation room of the student laboratory. There are no costs for visiting the DLR_School_Lab.
