We are sitting in an airplane on our way to vacation, the plane rolls onto the runway, we sit back comfortably and start to relax ... and then suddenly this tremendous noise starts! Does that have to be like this?

Of course not. We no longer sit with heads outside the plane like the Red Baron, instead we are protected from the cold, the wind and the noise of the aircraft engines by well-constructed aircraft walls.

The aim of the experiment is to explain sound transmission losses by aircraft fuselage, insulation and cabin padding.
