About N.ERGHY und FCH JU
The association N.ERGHY (New European Research Grouping on Fuel Cells and Hydrogen) was founded in 2008 and represents the interests of European Universities and Research Institutions in the FCH JU (Fuel Cells and Hydogren Joint Undertaking).
The three members of the FCH JU are the European Commission, fuel cell and hydrogen industries represented by the NEW Industry Grouping and the research community represented by Research Grouping N.ERGHY.
By accelerating the market introduction of fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies the initiative wants to reach a substancial impact to the European energy economy in 2020.
Fuel cells, as an efficient conversion technology, and hydrogen, as a clean energy carrier, have a great potential to help fight carbon dioxide emissions, to reduce dependence on hydrocarbons and to contribute to economic growth.
The objective of the FCH JU is to bring these benefits to Europeans through a concentrated effort from all sectors. At present, N.ERGHY is representing 59 universities and research institutes from 20 European Countries.
