Congratulations to Christian Sattler to his appointment as professor for Solar Fuel Production at the TU Dresden. The new professorship has been established jointly by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the TU Dresden.
Since 2011, the Bonner is heading the Department for Solar Process Engineering at the DLR in Cologne, and before this the research field Solar Material Conversion.
Meanwhile, the conversion of solar energy into liquid fuel has become the home of the scientific doctoral chemist who began his academic career in the 1990s with the research of AIDS medicines. 110 publications and 14 patents later, the research networker’s mission is primarily that transportation and traffic rely no longer on fossil fuels. For the mobility of the future sees Christian Sattler enormous potential in the use of solar fuels as an energy store.
Christian Sattler to his new duties in the teaching: "Working as a Professor is a great challenge for me and involves a lot of responsibility. I hope that I can pass on to my students how they can benefit of my knowledge to create something new. " The new Chair of solar fuel production and increased networking related the Institute of Solar Research at the TU Dresden shall contribute to further development of this field of research.
