The North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy is going to host the Energy Research Convention “Alles ist Energie” (Everything is Energy) for the first time on December 2nd and 3rd, 2020. The Secretary of Economy and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart is going to inaugurate the convention. In the plenary event, he is going to have a conversation with the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, Andreas Feicht, as well as with Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hoffschmidt, head of the Institute of Solar Research in the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The topics will be quality of life, a sustainable industry and a safe energy supply. Afterwards the cluster EnergieForschung.NRW will hold an annual conference with well-known experts under the slogan “Research for the energy system of the future” (Forschung für das Energiesystem der Zukunft).
The digital convention offers a diverse program with interactive lectures, panel discussions and individual conversations about today’s energy research and its future. There are a lot of possibilities to participate actively in the convention and to get inspired by virtual poster exhibitions and a podcast series.
Besides expert panels about battery and hydrogen research that were organized by the independent research project SCI4climate.NRW, there will also be workshop talks, short speeches and discussions in small groups that allow personal questions. On the so-called “Marketplace” and the Counseling Island (Beratungsinsel) you can meet experts of the Nationale Kontaktstelle Energie (NKS E) and the sponsor consulting service Forschung und Innovation. Thereby the convention offers advice on regional, national and European funding possibilities and connection through digital devices. To close the event, the congress will have a “Science Slam”.
