The DLR Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems participates on courses provided by the TU Institute of Adaptronics and Functional Integration, which Prof. Michael Sinapius, Prof. Martin Wiedemann and Prof. Christian Hühne belong to. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Hans Peter Monner, head of the department Adaptive Systems of the Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems , heads the Chair of Adaptronics at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Several Institute employees are also appointed professors and lecturers at a variety of universities in Lower Saxony and Bremen.
