Acting Institute Director
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Ortgiese, acting Institute Director, Tel.: +49 30 67055-7998
„Actively shaping technological and digital solutions for the transport of the future - that is what drives me as a scientist at the Institute of Transport Systems Engineering. Our multidisciplinary and application-oriented research considers the transport system as a whole and thus connects the areas of rail and road. We stand for innovative solutions and digital methods that aim at a sustainable and demand-oriented transformation of the transport system.“
Administration
Dipl.-Ing. Marc Hohloch, Administrative Managing Director, Tel.: +49 30 67055-323
With its broad expertise in controlling, quality management, occupational safety, data protection and export control, the Institute's administration ensures a stable working environment for the scientific activities in the research projects.
Research Strategy
Dr. Henning Mosebach, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 531 295-3449
The employees of the Research Strategy are designer and enabler for the digital transportation system of the future with it’s components in technology, architectures, functions and methods.
Research Design and Assessment of Mobility Solutions
Dr.-Ing. Bärbel Jäger, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 531 295-3430
Here, scientists develop solutions for cities and regions to transform the mobility system by developing user-friendly designs and simulation and evaluation tools, as well as researching operational optimization and creating acceptance.
Research Infrastructure Management
Dipl.-Ing. Marc Hohloch, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 30 67055-323
The department ensures the reliable operation of the institute’s complete research infrastructure. In addition, the further development of the research infrastructure is coordinated and implemented in accordance with our large-scale facilities roadmap.
Research Information Flow Modeling in Mobility Systems
Dr. Caroline Schießl, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 531 295-3462
The department conducts research on the informational foundations for the design of future mobility, with a view to all stakeholders – people, technical systems and services. Here, scientists develop methods for determining information needs, modeling information flows, and designing innovative solutions for digital, automated, and connected mobility systems based on this information.
Information Acquisition and Model Design
Dipl.-Ing. Sascha Knake-Langhorst, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 531 295-3474
The department designs, develops and evaluates architectural principles and platform structures as well as interfaces and basic services. Theses are used for the management and processing of spatial-temporal data for the identification and prediction of traffic situations and technical system states.
Research Cooperative Systems
Dr.-Ing. Tobias Hesse, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 30 67055-292
The department is pioneering new autonomous mobility solutions by researching, designing, and demonstrating connection, automation, cooperation, and coordination for vehicles, system networks, and us humans.
Research Design and Assessment of Mobility Solutions
Dr.-Ing. Robert Hilbrich, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 30 67055-582
Here, scientists develop solutions for cities and regions to transform the mobility system by developing user-friendly designs and simulation and evaluation tools, as well as researching operational optimization and creating acceptance.
Research Verification and Validation
Dipl.-Ing. Lennart Asbach, Head of Department, Tel.: +49 531 295-3447
