Research and development

  • Further development of two-tank storage systems for commercial solar thermal power plants
  • Development of an in-fill tank with lower investment costs
  • Nitrate salt storage tank with increased operating temperatures > 560 °C

Methods and infrastructure

  • Pilot plant TESIS:store for the development of in-bottom storage tanks with liquid salt
  • Pilot plant for pre-testing of liquid salt storage concepts up to 700 ° C
  • Modelling of heat and material transport, as well as salt chemistry with respect to the gas atmosphere
