Linking of data bases and data sources from the global Earth Observation System for energy systems analysis
Duration: August 2019 until July 2022
Funded by: Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action
Project Participants: Forschungszentrum Jülich Universität Leipzig, Institut für angewandte Informatik Universität Stuttgart, Institut für Energiewirtschaft- und Rationekke Energieanwendung Reiner Lemoine Institut Potsdam Institut für Klimafolgenforschung Institut für Vernetzte Energiesysteme

Project Description: The project is about the development of da networked data base concept based on the ideas of linked open data and the semantic web for input and output data of energy system models in energy systems analysis. Further a link shall be established to the Global Earth Observation System of Systems for spatially and temporally resolved data. The developed tools shall be tested with various energy system models within the project. Finally best practice guides will be developed which support the further use of the tools in energy systems analysis. The aim of the project is the development and demonstration of a possible data infrastructure for energy systems analysis.
The project consists of seven work packages
