The main goal of the investigations is a detailed quantitative characterization of confined swirling diffusion flames stabilized on the TECFLAM swirl burner. This work is part of a cooperation between the universities of Darmstadt, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and the DLR.The Raman measurements are described in [4,7]. See also [14].
Two natural gas / air flames were investigated
At our institute spontaneous Raman scattering was applied for the simultaneous determination of the temperature and major species concentrations. At typically 120 points in axial and radial directions, 300 single-pulse measurements were performed at each position. The data sets comprise the joint probability density functions (PDFs), the mean values and RMS fluctuations of the temperature, the mixture fraction, and the mass fractions of N2, O2, CH4, CO2, H2O, CO and H2.The data sets are completed by flow field measurements and mass fractions of minor species measured by the other research groups.
The data sets are available from the University of Darmstadt [13] .
