Development of an innovative Nano-combined-heat-and-power-plant using novel thermal generators based on Skutterudite and Bismuth-Telluride alloys

18 August 2020
The project “Nano-BHKW” aims at the development of a novel and innovative Nano-combined-heat-and-power-plant for the partial conversion of the heat into electrical energy of single and multi-family houses during the heating period. In comparison to the units in use up to now, which are based on combustion engines, the “Nano-BHKW” to evolve uses thermoelectric generators (TEG) based on novel Skutterudite semi-conductor alloys.

Advanced Theory and Simulation: Composite Materials: On the Molecular to Continuum Modeling of Fiber‐Reinforced Composites

27 May 2020
A bottom‐up multiscale model approach for describing fiber‐reinforced composites is described by Ameya Rege and Sandeep P. Patil in article number 1900211. In their model, the fibers (for example, carbon nanotubes) are modeled as Euler–Bernoulli beams and the particle matrix (for example, silica aerogel) is modeled as an elastic foundation.
