The facitity Wind Energy Experiments (WX) at the site Braunschweig is a young organizational unit under construction, which was founded as part of the resumption of research activities in the field of wind energy at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
After planning and construction, the facility will operate a researchpark windenergy in Krummendeich (district of Stade) with a unique research infrastructure. In addition, WX coordinates the wind energy research of the research institutes in this field. There is a close cooperation in particular with the Institute of Aeroelasticity, Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology, Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems, Institute of Flight Systems and Institute of Atmospheric Physics. However, the facility Wind Energy Experiments also sees itself as a partner for research projects by external research institutions and industry.
