At the Center of Lightweight Production Technologies in Augsburg was successfully demonstrated an integrated process for the automated vacuum bagging on a rear pressure bulkhead geometry. Within the project PROTRC NSR a smart approach was developed which consists of pre tailored auxiliary material kits and a robotic pick&place process.
On top of the dry fiber preform were precisely placed and fixed 26 auxiliary material kits by a multi kinematic gripping system. The developed approach displays a HRI process which optimizes the advantages of the single process steps.
The industry near manufacturing of the full scale pressure bulkhead shows the feasibility for an automated placement of flexible auxiliary materials on complex, doubly curved surfaces. This process achieves a reduction of the tooling occupation time and a significant improvement in the placement accuracy.
