Navigation World Days
Die Navigation World Days finden am 4. und 5. Juni 2007 im DHL Innovation Center in Troisdorf bei Bonn statt. Organisator ist die Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen.
The two-day Navigation World Days in the new DHL Innovation Center will highlight the current state of the technology. The four topics of the Navigation World Days represent the most important segments of the realisation of the integrated and stndardised services which are based on satellite navigation. The specific challenge is that these services must be available globally. Challenges which can be solved economically in future by the merging of satellite navigation systems, IT and telecommunications networks.

Partnergesuche aus der Türkei
TUBITAK UZAY is building-up a test field in Tuz Gölü salt lake in Turkey for absolute radiometric calibration for the improvement of in-situ data availability and dissemination. We are planning to participate to FP7 in Area 9.1.1. Pre-operational validation of GMES services and products for the improvement of in-situ data availability and dissemination.
Below is some information about the capability and experience of TUBITAK UZAY:
TUBITAK is the national governmental body to coordinate, fund and carry out R&D work in Turkey. Its research activity is carried out through some specialized institutes and TUBITAK UZAY is the one focusing on space activites. Following the experimental optical remote sensing satellite BilSat (built under a technology transfer programme in the UK), we are now in the process of building another scientific remote sensing satellite (RASAT) at our premises in Ankara, with no outside support or consultancy. We expect the launch to be in 2008.
BiLSAT-1 Project
Fulfilled with a budget around 13.4 million USD to establish all necessary infrastructure about LEO Micro satellites in cooperaion with SSTL of Surrey University, UK.
A satellite so-called BILSAT-1 was designed and launched to LEO
MoD Space Research and Development Project
Includes technical and strategic reports, training and software development
RASAT Project
Second LEO EO Satellite
To be designed and manufactured by TUBITAK UZAY
Small Research and Development Projects
BİLGE: On-board computer (to be flown on RASAT)
ALP: Intelligent Lithium Battery (to be flown on RASAT)
Orbit propagator: Very high precision absolute and relative orbit modeling (for formation flying applications)
GEZGİN-2: On-board, real-time JPEG2000 compression/encryption Subsystem (to be flown on RASAT)
Image Archieve and processing software
X-Band Satellite Communication Subsystem (to be flown on RASAT)
TUBITAK UZAY wants to be in-situ data provider for calibration and validation. Our institute is planning to build-up a test field in Tuz Gölü salt lake for radiometric calibration. Tuz gölü site is possessing all the requirements for a good calibration site as it is a:
• Bright natural target,
• Free of vegetation,
• Spatially uniform and "spectrally bland",
• Large site (Salt area is over 1900 km2 during dry season),
• Low aerosol loading,
• Cloud-free,
• Easily accessible.
For further information on cooperation possibilities with TUBITAK UZAY and Tuz Gölü salt lake please find the attached info shets. If you need any other information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
