The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation has tested an innovative method in LUNA to support future lunar exploration. By enabling lunar rovers, landers and astronaut suits to communicate and act as relay stations, the system forms a network that can determine relative positions in real time. This approach proves particularly valuable for navigating and mapping underground caves.
