About Jan-Simon Telle

Jan-Simon Telle studied Industrial Engineering for Process and Energy Technology (B.Sc.) and Sustainable Energy Systems (M.Sc.) at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Today, he conducts research in the Energy Systems Technology department at the DLR Institute of Networked Energy Systems and works as a project manager for the EMGIMO research project.

As an engineer for sustainable energy systems, Telle is passionate about the energy transition and develops smart solutions for its implementation. In the EMGIMO project, he and his team are investigating how measurement data from smart meters can be used to supply commercial properties with energy as CO2-neutrally as possible and integrate charging options for electromobility in a grid-compatible manner.

Due to the project's requirement to create self-learning forecasts of energy demand and generation, Telle became more intensively involved with the use of artificial intelligence in energy management systems for the first time. Several visits to DLR Knowledge Exchange Workshops (WAW) on the topic of machine learning awakened his deeper interest in the topic of AI.
