About Jörg Brauchle

Jörg Brauchle is a development engineer and project manager at the German Aerospace Center, where he explores new technologies for remote sensing. These are applied to a wide variety of aircraft. During his time in the Institutes of Transport Research and Transportation Systems, he has worked on the automated collection of traffic flow data using airborne camera systems.

At the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics he has succeeded in realising his new, robotically controlled camera concepts. Jörg is currently testing versatile aerial camera systems developed at the Institute of Optical Sensor Systems in Berlin (www.DLR.de/MACS). Using the sensor data, highly accurate, detailed 3D maps are created. Jörg Brauchle blogs for exciting expeditions like exploring the Himalayan region and publishes in relevant journals.
