About Marc Gelhausen
Marc Gelhausen studied business administration at RWTH Aachen University, specialising in operations research and business informatics, and economics at the Free University of Hagen. In 2007, he received his doctorate in economics from RWTH Aachen University.
After completing his studies, he joined DLR as a doctoral student in 2003. In 2006, he joined the newly founded DLR Institute of Airport Research and Air Transport. His main area of research is mathematical-statistical methods for creating (air) traffic forecasts. The subject of his doctoral thesis was a model of airport and access mode choice and he is currently working on global air traffic forecasts under airport capacity constraints and is a member of the ICAO CAEP FESG.
Early in the morning, Marc Gelhausen can usually be found in running shoes and enjoys running a marathon in the beautiful Rhineland.
