About Martin Sippel

Dr Martin Sippel has been working at DLR for over 20 years in the field of launch vehicle systems analysis. Since 2008, he has been head of the Space Transport Systems Analysis (SART) department at the Institute of Space Systems in Bremen.

Together with his team, Martin Sippel designs and analyses the future of rockets and their propulsion systems. This is done in close co-operation with partners at DLR, who make important contributions to the support with their test facilities and detailed calculations. In addition, there is European and international cooperation with the overarching goal of making access to space more favourable for everyone.

The department is researching many different future projects. One project always attracts by far the greatest public interest: the SpaceLiner. In future, passengers should be able to travel long intercontinental distances such as Australia to Europe in just 90 minutes. An application of space technology on earth.
