About Ralf Dujmovits
Ralf Dujmovits knows countries such as Peru, Canada, Tanzania, Pakistan, Thailand, Norway and Iceland primarily from above - when he looks down from mountains such as Mount McKinley, Huascarán, Kilimanjaro or Nanga Parbat. He climbed the highest mountains on all seven continents. He was the first German to stand on the summits of all 14 eight-thousanders.
As a high-altitude mountaineer and state-certified mountain and ski guide, he has led more than 50 expeditions. In Nepal alone, he climbed peaks higher than 6000 metres during more than 40 stays. For the first time in his life, he and his partner, Canadian professional mountaineer Nancy Hansen, will be living in thin air for weeks on end at the DLR's :envihab research facility. He reports on his time as a "MyoCardioGen" test subject in this blog.
