About Rudolph Triebel

PD Dr Rudolph Triebel has headed the "Perception and Cognition" department of the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) since 2015.

He completed his doctoral thesis entitled "Three-dimensional Perception for Mobile Robots" at the University of Freiburg in 2007. He then worked at ETH Zurich until 2011, where he worked on image processing algorithms for autonomous driving, among other things. Triebel then worked for two years at the University of Oxford, where he focussed on methods of object classification under uncertainty. From 2013 to 2015, he completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Munich with the thesis "Approaches for Efficient and Autonomous Learning in Robotics and Computer Vision".

In addition to his work at DLR, he teaches at the Technical University of Munich in the field of machine learning for computer vision.
