BELA ground tracks
BELA ground tracks
Simulated BELA ground tracks using the example of the Warhol crater. The dots represent the impact points of individual laser shots on the surface. Inside the crater, the typical terraced structures and the crater floor with its central peak are clearly visible. To the right are 'hollows' – depressions likely left behind as voids following the outgassing of volatile materials. The image shows a section measuring 145 x 145 km.
