Learning solutions for water management

WaterLab

The aim of the WaterLab project is the iterative development and evaluation of a demonstrator for the use of social mixed reality in education contexts. During the project, the potential of immersive technologies will be exploited with regard to conveying competences that cannot be taught through static learning techniques. The use of social virtual and augmented reality will aid the communication of complex infrastructures in water management while also allowing for the employment of simulations to convey effects of changes in the system. In addition to the imparting of knowledge, the development of competences and thus the ability to act with regard to water as a resource shall be fostered. An interactive and immersive education resource for pupils and students shall result from the project with regard to selected aspects of water management. Different stakeholder groups (teachers, pupils and students, mixed-reality experts) will participate in an interative, co-creative process for the development of learning szenarios and modules.
