Space Tech Expo 2022
At the Space Tech Expo 2022 in Bremen from 15.11 – 17.11. with 500 exhibitors and over 5.000 attendees, the Institute of Technical Physics was represented by a team of scientists. The Institute presented the system APPARILLO, a passive-optical staring system for the detection of orbital objects. This weatherproof, mobile system can measure the angular position of near-Earth objects and forward them to an existing database.

The Institute of Technical Physics also presented the new Johannes Kepler Observatory at the Space Tech Expo. The observatory detects and characterizes space debris in low-Earth orbit and is the largest of its kind in Europe.
