DLR makes the FireBIRD data products acquired and stored as part of the mission available on a non-exclusive basis for scientific use and non-commercial research and development activities. The raw data remain the property of DLR and cannot be provided to third parties. The rights to the derived research products lie with the registered, authorized users.
To acquire data a ‘FireBIRD research proposal’ specifying the intended use of the data has to be submitted. It should be emailed to science-firebird@dlr.de. If approved, data acquisition and ordering will be authorized and the user can access the ordered data through EOWEB (http://eoweb.dlr.de) within the framework of the science programme.
Non-registered users (anonymous, self-registered) can access the EOWEB catalogue in order to search for data and view the metadata. However, in order to download data or order new acquisitions, registration and proposal submission is necessary.
