Symposium

The Drone Challenge Brunswick officially kicks off on 5 November 2026 in Braunschweig. The symposium marks the official launch of the competition, where the challenge tasks and competition rules will be presented for the first time. It also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, form teams, and connect with experts from research and civil protection.
Participation in the symposium is recommended for all interested participants but is not a prerequisite for taking part in the Challenge, which will be held in spring 2027.

What to expect at the symposium?
- Official opening: The competition will be officially opened by Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture.
- Challenge presentation: Learn everything you need to know about the competition format, challenge tasks, and evaluation criteria.
- Expert presentations: Experts from DLR as well as public authorities and emergency response organizations will provide insights into the latest developments in drone technology and civilian security applications.
- Live demonstration: Experience the DLR Drone Cage firsthand and gain insight into the capabilities of modern drone systems.
- Networking: Meet fellow participants, exchange ideas, and find teammates for your team.
