With the help of augmented reality, we can show you a range of different technological possibilities for climate-neutral aviation.

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is practically a virtual OEM, which fits well with the claim „Energizing a Sustainable Industry“. With our institiute's research, we connect the expertise of many DLR institutes digitally, ranging from the fields of aviation, digitalisation and energy to transport.

We design sustainable aircraft, research how future technologies can be best integrated into those and how they have to be like exactly to actually find their way into the industry and into the planes we will be travelling with in the future.

Flagship projects like our EXACT project analysed and compared different technologies (hydrogen, batteries, SAF, etc.) - and designed the best future aircraft ecologically and economically speaking, in ALICIA we established a framework within which we can evaluate revolutionary technologies with regard to their impact on climate, the environment, the economy and socially across multiple levels. This is key when taking decisions, regardless whether in policy-making or in the industry.
