Noah Raabe from the Institute of Technical Physics has received a prize for his master's thesis "Development of a laser rangefinder for µ-UAV targets" from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in the Optotechnology and Image Processing degree program. The prize was awarded to him on July 4, 2025 as part of the graduation ceremony.
With the help of this technology, the TRAILER (Tracking Ranging And Identification using Laser Energy on the Road) research platform can locate micro-drones with centimeter precision for their defense.
