Start of measurement and analysis at the WiValdi research park

Ouverture

The Ouverture project evolved from the following question: What prerequisites are necessary to utilize the WiValdi Wind Park for achieving the DLR's HGF Wind goals within the planned timeframe and to achieve maximum economic exploitation, including technology transfer?

The process of expanding the Research Wind Farm WiValdi into a research platform occurs in three phases: construction project (DFWind I and II), research kickoff (Ouverture), and subsequent operational research. Based on the results and preliminary work from the project, further research on WiValdi, within Ouverture and beyond, will address and answer the HGF goals in the wind energy sector and open scientific questions. In several steps, the entire sensor system of the wind park is evaluated and analyzed. Based on this, initial research work on all HGF wind goals is conducted. The results aim to establish a comprehensive understanding of the sensors and their interaction with each other and with the wind park system. This is intended to support further projects related to the HGF goals. Beyond achieving the current HGF goals, the project promotes exchange and collaboration within the DLR in wind research. The ability to comprehensively examine the wind park can only be fully utilized through investigations considering multiple thematic areas. Ouverture aims to significantly contribute to scientifically operating the complex large-scale research facility WiValdi and offering it to the research community. For this purpose, a comprehensive collection of results and analysis methods on the sensor system is to be created for further use in research projects at WiValdi.
