We develop concepts, processes and technologies that strengthen and improve the resilience of organisations and systems. In doing so, we focus on people, technology and the system as a whole.

DLR weiht Institut zum Schutz terrestrischer Infrastrukturen ein

Das alltägliche Leben in unserer zunehmend digitalisierten und vernetzten Welt, ist abhängig von funktionierenden Infrastrukturen. Ohne intakte Stromnetze, Wasserversorgung, Krankenhäuser und Verkehrswege kämen Wirtschaft und öffentliches Leben schnell zum Erliegen. Für die Sicherheit dieser Einrichtungen forscht man am neuen Institut des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), in Sankt Augustin. Am 23. November 2021, hat Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla, Vorsitzende des DLR-Vorstands, im virtuellen Beisein von Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister für Wirtschaft, Innovation, Digitalisierung und Energie des Landes NRW und der parlamentarischen Staatssekretärin beim Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie, Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker MdB, das DLR-Institut für den Schutz terrestrischer Infrastrukturen eingeweiht.

Researchers at the Institute for the Protection of Terrestrial Infrastructures, the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and the Ludwig-Maximilian’s-University Munich have developed the prototype of a mobile explosives detector. It detects energetic materials library-free, regardless of their chemical composition.

Das Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) und die Bergische Universität Wuppertal intensivieren ihre Zusammenarbeit in der zivilen Sicherheitsforschung. In einer gemeinsamen Studie werden Modelle entwickelt, mit denen sich die physische Sicherheit von kritischen Infrastrukturen objektiv bewerten lässt.

DLR scientists receive Best Communication Award der Konferenz RoboSoft 2021

Congratulations to our colleague Edoardo Milana and to Cosimo Della Santina fom the DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics for winning the Communication Award at the RoboSoft 2021 - IEEE International Conference. Yale University/USA hosted the online conference. The jury recognised with the award the outstanding presentation and the poster presentation on the scientific paper "Model-Based Control Can Improve the Performance of Artificial Cilia". Other authors of the paper are Francesco Stella (TU Delft), Benjamin Gorissen (Harvard University) and Dominiek Reynaerts (KU Leuven).
