In Germany, the condition of road surfaces, especially of highways, is recorded terrestrially and managed centrally. The catalog of parameters includes, among other things, the presence of cracks, seams and patches as well as the age of the material and the material of the surface layer. In this project, it was demonstrated that the aforementioned parameters can be derived using high-resolution aerial imagery and hyperspectral airborne data.  For the detection of cracks, seams and patches, an annotation dataset was created and a network was trained with it. Depending on the resolution of the aerial data, it is possible to derive cracks, seams and patches automatically. In addition, a study was made to derive the age and material of the surface layer from data from the HySpex sensor.
