Inline Quality Assurance Cell (IQZ)

The production of high-performance lightweight structures requires full control over material and production processes. Inline-capable methods of quality assurance are increasingly in focus. The IQZ Quality Assurance Cell enables process development, adaptation and testing to be carried out directly on an industrial robot.

A measuring robot and test material can be freely placed on a clamping field of 5 x 8 m in size in order to simulate various test scenarios for different geometries. Further degrees of freedom can be realized by means of a turn-tilt positioner. Exact modelling in CAD and the latest software for offline programming allow inspection scenarios and test runs to be digitally set up and planned in advance without collisions.

Thanks to the high accuracy of the positionally accurate KUKA Quantec KR 120 R2700 extra HA, measurements with increased precision requirements are also possible. To further increase accuracy, the robot can be tracked with high precision using external measuring devices (Leica laser tracker) during measurement runs.

The robotic cell is located in a separate, separately air-conditioned room, which protects the measurements from possible disturbances from outside. Area protection and optical shielding also ensure health and work safety, allowing measurements not permitted in an open environment (e.g. optical pulse thermography).
