The 6th Innovative Air Mobility Symposium (IAMSYM2026) will take place in Göttingen, Germany, on 23–24 November 2026. Under the theme “Overcoming Challenges and Shaping the Future of Innovative Air Mobility”, experts from research, industry, and public authorities will discuss current developments and future challenges in the field of Innovative Air Mobility (IAM). The symposium is organized by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), represented by the DLR Institute of Flight Guidance, in cooperation with the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics (DGLR).
Held annually, the symposium provides a platform to exchange knowledge and discuss advanced urban and regional air mobility concepts as well as passenger and cargo transport applications. The technical sessions will address current challenges and solution approaches for IAM, including the implementation of new operational concepts, integration into intermodal transportation systems, development of supporting infrastructure, and the scaling of U-space services. Additional topics include safety and sustainability aspects, the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning, operations in complex urban environments, and advanced simulation and engineering approaches for future air mobility systems.
Call for Contributions Open Until 17 July
Researchers and professionals from industry and public authorities are invited to submit their latest work and findings. Contributions may be submitted as scientific presentations (15-minute presentation plus 5-minute discussion) or poster presentations. The symposium’s program will be compiled from the submitted and selected abstracts and organized into thematic sessions. Contributions that cannot be accommodated in the oral program due to limited presentation slots may be presented as posters.
The submission deadline for abstracts is 17 July 2026.
