Master Thesis: Digital Elevation Model generation in the frame of an Enceladus radar mission study
This thesis will focus on exploring various methodologies for generating low-scale topography, including spherical harmonics, surface fractal modeling, and artificial intelligence, ultimately identifying the approach that proves to be the most suitable and promising. Particular attention will be given to Neural Network solutions for spatial features extraction, including data augmentation, as well as planetary surface generation. The developed DEM will be validated through a comparison with analogous scenarios on Earth that exhibit similar backscattering characteristics, based on the data from TerraSAR-X.
