The Institute's technology centre with various laboratories and facilities for sensor development, integration and test setup for airborne radar, radiometers, antennas and calibration.

The TechLab is a centre for the development of cutting-edge high-frequency technology, with laboratory equipment and measurement systems operated by around 30 staff members. The largest facility is the Compact Test Range near-field antenna test chamber for high-precision measurements of antennas and radar backscatter cross sections. Other measurement facilities include the Signature Measurement Chamber, where monostatic and bistatic measurements of the radar signatures of objects are performed at reduced scale, a chamber for measuring the dielectric properties of material samples, and a range of ground equipment for calibrating satellite SAR systems. The TechLab also houses various research laboratories specially equipped for the development, optimisation, integration, testing and calibration of radar and radiometer systems.
