We are pleased to announce that our colleague Andreas Heinzel successfully defended his doctoral thesis on "Concepts for SAR tomographic imaging of buried objects" at the University of Ulm on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. The dissertation presents new concepts for the detection of buried explosive ordnance by extending SAR tomographic methods, thereby increasing the probability of detection. The effectiveness of these algorithms was verified by measurements with a rail-based radar system. Our warmest congratulations!
