DLR Exceptional Achievements in Science - Marco Schwerdt
We are pleased to announce that our colleague Dr.-Ing. Marco Schwerdt, Institute of High Frequency Technology and Radar Systems (HR), has received the “DLR Exceptional Achievements in Science” award “for his achievements in the high-precision calibration of national and European SAR satellite missions and in the establishment of the DLR SAR Calibration Center”.

The “DLR Exceptional Achievements in Science” award recognizes the achievements of outstanding scientists at DLR.
On the one hand, the award recognizes scientists who have excelled in the field of basic research, and on the other hand, scientists who work primarily in an application-oriented manner and have made outstanding contributions in the field of project work in particular.
This year's title was awarded to four researchers on July 1, 2025 as part of the Science-BBQ event in Oldenburg.
