We are pleased to announce that our colleague Shiyi Li successfully defended his doctoral thesis at ETH Zurich on June 4, 2025.
The title of his dissertation is "Advancing Applications of Synthetic Aperture Radar for Cryosphere Studies in Alpine Regions". It introduced innovative methods to enhance the observation and analysis of velocities and mass balances of glaciers in mountain regions using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology, providing valuable insights into the changes occurring in these sensitive environments in the context of climate change.
