We are delighted to announce that our colleague Caterina Klumpp won the ARGUS Science Award 2025 (1st place) for her master's thesis, "RFI Detection and Mitigation Based on Artificial Intelligence." The award was presented to her by HENSOLDT.
Caterina’s thesis demonstrates the detection of RF interferences in real X-band SAR data recorded by TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X in their according power spectra. Furthermore, the mitigation of those interferences was shown. Additionally, in global noise data the global distribution and spectral shape of interferers was investigated.
