The new NGT running gear design with independent suspension
The lightweight ar­chi­tec­ture, the drive mo­tors and their con­trol, the lin­ear ed­dy cur­rent brakes and the two-stage sus­pen­sion of the NGT run­ning gear were de­vel­oped at DLR. The struc­ture and ma­te­ri­als used in this high-tech run­ning gear are op­ti­mised to be as light as pos­si­ble, both in the load-bear­ing com­po­nents and in the drive mo­tors. Less weight re­duces en­er­gy con­sump­tion and al­lows for more pay­load.
