The stor­age sys­tem con­sists of a high-tem­per­a­ture heat pump, a heat stor­age tank filled with ni­trate salts, and a heat en­gine. The lat­ter can gen­er­ate en­vi­ron­ment-friend­ly elec­tric­i­ty on de­mand us­ing a tur­bine with a gen­er­a­tor.
