              Research & Transfer

              Research Topics

The Institute of Planetary Research studies the planets, moons and small bodies in our Solar System as well as in other planetary systems. Four areas of core, cross-sectional scientific themes have been identified addressing key questions in planetary sciences with links to ongoing/future space mission participations.

              Missions and Projects

The Institute of Planetary Research participates to (almost) all planetary science missions of ESA, is a key partner in missions exploring exoplanets and contributes with instruments and data processing expertise to missions of NASA, JAXA, and CNES.

              Research Infrastructure

The Institute of Planetary Research currently operates the following laboratories.
