Prof Dr Patrick Jochem, head of the Energy Systems Analysis department at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems, has been appointed senior editor of the journal "Transportation Research (Part D: Transport and Environment)" by international scientific publisher Elsevier. He now assumes the responsible task of assisting the chief editors in the initial screening of submitted papers from around the world. Thematically, the journal primarily focuses on environmental effects resulting from the mobility sector.
"The appointment as senior editor is a great recognition, to which I warmly congratulate Patrick Jochem," says Institute Director Prof Dr Carsten Agert. "It highlights the consistently high quality of his outstanding scientific work. At the same time, it underlines the international relevance of the Institute of Networked Energy Systems and the entire DLR in the field of energy and transport research."
In the future, alongside his work at the DLR, Jochem will serve in a critical role as a senior editor, acting as an interface between quality control and the organisation of the review process. The position involves assessing submitted manuscripts from around the world in an initial review, either rejecting them or advancing them to the actual peer-review process preceding scientific publications. At "Transportation Research (Part D: Transport and Environment)", two senior editors and two editors-in-chief are available for this task. Jochem is thus one of four people performing this initial assessment of manuscripts received from around the world for the journal.
