In a blog post for the hydrogen magazine Hzwei, Dr Hendrik Langnickel, Claudia Käding and Dr Alexander Dyck from the Institute of Networked Energy Systems (et al.) describe the significance of the storage of hydrogen in disused natural gas caverns investigated in the H2CAST research project for the future hydrogen infrastructure. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action presents how applied energy research is developing solutions for a stable energy supply on its website energieforschung.de. Among other things, Felix Nitsch from the Institute of Networked Energy Systems explains why the VERMEER project has analysed the role of intra-European electricity trading in the event of supply bottlenecks. Balcony PV systems for cruise ships

As part of the EcoCab project, researchers at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems have simulated how photovoltaic balcony systems on the cabins of cruise ships can be used to supply energy. pv magazine reports on the analysis of three possible approaches for integrating the systems with regard to their energy efficiency in the DC grid on board future cruise ships.

Looking to the future of energy meteorology

To accompany the journal article "Weather as a driver of the energy transition", the US publisher AIP Publishing has produced an edited "Scilight" on the importance of energy meteorology with lead author Dr Marion Schroedter-Homscheidt from the Institute of Networked Energy Systems.
