      Expertise

Ten research groups work at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems. They are each assigned to one of the Institute's three departments. Among other things, these teams develop our modelling tools for scenario creation and techno-economic system modelling and optimisation.

      Our Departments

Research at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems is divided into three scientific departments. The respective research content and the underlying scientific motivation are explained here.

      Our Research Groups

At the Institute, three research groups are assigned to each of the Energy Systems Technology and Urban and Building Technologies departments. Four research groups work in the Energy Systems Analysis department.

      Modelling Tools

We use our own modelling tools developed at DLR for both scenario development and system modelling. Here we present some examples of these mostly open source modelling tools.
