Multispektralmessung_METEOSAT
Multispectral measurements from the Earth's geostationary orbit (here an image from a METEOSAT satellite) are the basis for determining the radiation intensity reaching the Earth. This data can be used to determine the solar energy potential on the ground by taking into account a wide range of parameters: the position and thickness of clouds, gases such as water vapour or ozone as well as aerosol particles such as Saharan dust, pollen and air pollution that absorb and scatter light.
