The Center for Earth observation based information for climate adaptation and environment was founded in 2026 and is a service of the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) that is currently being set up. ZKU aims at establishing Earth observation data products to support climate adaptation and to provide environmental information for knowledge exchange with public authorities in Germany at municipality, federal state and national level. ZKU focuses on multi-year data products with national coverage.
ZKU builds on the Earth Observation Center’s (EOC) existing scientific and technical expertise in the methodological development of Earth observation products, combined with in-depth knowledge of the processing, analysis, and interpretation of large-scale remote sensing data.
