DLR TAKT Semi-automatic Design Tool
DLR TAKT Semi-automatic Design Tool
As part of the development of the NGT CARGO high-speed freight train and the logistics system of the future, the DLR has developed the TAKT design tool (Semi-automatic Design Tool). With a focus on lightweight construction, TAKT supports the product development process for large structural assemblies in rail vehicles (such as carriage bodies). The aim of the tool is to develop a methodology that simplifies, standardises and accelerates structural analyses in the early design process. Topology optimisations, which were used in the development of the NGT HST, the NGT LINK and also the CARGO, among others, serve as the starting point. The topology optimisation is analysed and converted into a design proposal, which can then be used to carry out further analyses and design work. The current methodology also serves as a starting point for investigations into the future use of AI in the development process within the DLR Rolling Stock project ‘RoSto’.
